About the Challenge Fund
Muungano wa wanavijiji, SDI-Kenya recognizes that there is a need to double down efforts under our key principles of co-creation, co-ownership, and co-leadership on youth engagement through strengthening young people's access, participation, and influence at all levels( Settlement, City, National) therefore integrating youth into the federation. The funds aim to support the youth in the quest to push for local development, also, we aim to support youth who are excluded from conversations that matter at all levels. It will build the capacity of and engage with youth-led groups, to create sustainable change in social, economic, and legal environments that impact the youth. The funds also aim to mobilize young people to become young activists who stand and talk on behalf of their settlement and community.
In this first cycle, we will select youth-led groups to receive funds, and we will partner with them to co-implement their intended actions/interventions throughout the next four(4) months. Each of the selected youth groups will receive a maximum of 100,000ksh.
Additionally, Muungano wa wanavijiji, SDI-Kenya will support the selected groups technically through capacity strengthening on gaps that the groups have.
