Christine Mwelu Mutuku

Federation national leader

Christine Mwelu Mutuku has been a Muungano wa Wanavijiji National Federation Leader since 2013. She is a community mobilizer from Mukuru and an expert in community development. Christine has been a champion for the Mukuru Special Planning Area and played a vital role in organizing community members, especially women, around savings and advocating for their rights. She is also a member of the Know Your City data team, focusing on settlement profiling and data collection. In 2018, she championed for the declaration of the Mukuru Special Planning Area for infrastructural development by the then county government. Her goal is to see Mukuru residents live in dignity and have access to land ownership.
