Michelle Koyaro is an urban planner by profession with a Bachelor of Science in Urban and Regional planning She has been working with Slum Dwellers International Kenya (SDI-K) on projects related to community organizing, urban development, health and well-being, climate change adaptation and resilience, and community and youth engagement for the past two years. She is passionate about creating sustainable and equitable urban environments, particularly in urban informal settlements. She has expertise in urban and community planning, research, data analysis, visual communication and is dedicated to promoting community engagement and collaboration for creating successful and livable spaces for the urban dwellers.
She is currently a programs assistant at SDI Kenya, where she works closely with the research and planning department to implement and manage project interventions, develop data collection tools, train co-researchers on data collection tools, analyze and visualize both qualitative and quantitative data, conduct community-led monitoring and evaluation, spatially map project activities, draft progress reports, and work with local communities to oversee project activities. Furthermore, she possesses a strong ability to effectively communicate complex data to stakeholders through the use of info graphs.
