Pauline Waigumo

Federation national leader

Pauline Waigumo is a national federation leader of Muungano wa Wanavijiji from Mathare since 2006. She is a community mobilizer, outreach coordinator, community champion, environment, and climate change advocate, as well as a community researcher. Pauline is very passionate about savings schemes, women and girl child empowerment, and research. She has been a youth mentor and trained community researcher, supporting the federation in conducting community research and building Muungano Cells within different communities through the Know Your City data team. Her contributions to the movement include Safe and Inclusive Cities, Nairobi River rehabilitation and adoption, organizing community groups for savings, climate change movements, and capacity strengthening of groups. Her goal in the federation is to bring change to her community through community organizing and empowering young people to take the lead in making a difference in various aspects.
