As at 12 April. Kenya has 197 confirmed cases and 8 deaths from the novel coronavirus (source: Ministry of Health).

Over the last two weeks, Muungano members have been involved in a wide range of activities in their settlements, aiming to prepare Kenya’s slums and their residents for the rapidly approaching Covid 19 pandemic.

This photoblog captures a some of the work going on — we hope to provide regular updates as the situation unfolds.

Traders from Nakuru practise social distancing as they carry out their activities within the market. This is one of the recomendations set by the governement as one of the ways to slow the spread of Coronavirus. Social distancing is a set of non-pharmaceutical interventions or measures taken to prevent the spread of a contagious disease by maintaining a physical distance between people and reducing the number of times people come into close contact with each other.
